Dr. Seuss Quote
“You’re off to great places, today is your day, your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!”
-Dr.SeussStarting Off a Good Year!
As the holidays end, our time off ends, and sometimes we think about how close going to school/work is. Some of us may be,"Whoopee school/work"! Then some of us may be, "Just turn the alarm clock off". So to help with some new years post-vacation shock, I have five tips:
1. Check your alarm clock and put it on the other side of your bedroom. (So you can actually get up)
2. Get caught up on some work before returning.
3. Set your bag out ready with what you need (do the same with clothes).
4. Get some sleep!
5. Actually get up, get ready, EAT BREAKFAST and go to school/work!
Now as you approach the building take a deep breath, remember you can do this and force your feet to move forward. Happy Early New Year and good luck! Stay Positive!

Confidence Tips
Every now and then we all have this low self esteem or sometimes we can be really intimidated by people in general. So, in this blog entry I am going to give you some pointers on some self confidence. My first piece of advice is to stand in your room (privately) for TWO WHOLE MINUTES and do the Superman/Wonder Woman (hands on hips) pose. Put your hands on your hips, straighten that back, look at yourself in the mirror (you don't have to) and say, "I can do this"! I know it sounds cheesy, but it works. Studies have shown that doing this boosts testosterone (hormone that helps with confidence) and lowers cortisol (the hormone that causes stress). My second piece of advice is don't be frightened by people. People are people. For example if you are going to a job interview and the people who are interviewing you are scary and intimidating. Just take a deep breath, do the Wonder Woman pose, go through some practice interview questions and when they call you in just walk in with confidence. Plus, you should remember that the interviewers have went through the same thing to get to where they are and that they are human. For my third and final piece of advice, have good posture (I'm guilty of this, I have okay posture). Good posture like a straight back and looking people in the eye shows confidence! One it shows that you pay attention and two, it will make people pay attention to you. It's a lot different that doing a presentation with a hunched back and mumbling does not show confidence. Do that presentation with a straight back, eye contact with the people that are listening and speak with a loud and clear voice. If you are not feeling confident about these suggestions try going by this phrase "fake it till you make it". Just pretend to be confident by following these steps and voila! By the time you know it, you are already confident! But confidence doesn't come quick, it comes with time and (I know this sounds cheesy) believing that you can do it! I know you can do it! Good luck!

Intro to My Random Lovable Self! (at least I think :p)
Hi there!
My name is Miriam but you can just call me Cat. Right now I am starting a blog (obviously) about Positive Random stuff. A little bit about myself is that I love animals (especially cats), I LOVE to act, I like to research different kinds of things, and most of all trying to stay positive! Now you might be asking, "Why is she making a site about positive random things"? Well, to answer that question I am making this blog because we all need something positively random in our life every once in a while. But mainly what I am going to blog about is some self boosting ideas and some really great quotes I think will help with boosting that self esteem (and maybe something different every once in a while!). I hope you guys enjoy! :)
