Everyone does it, but does that mean it's right? No. Talking behind people's backs is the worst thing a person can do in a friendship/relationship. It burns bridges and it just ruins your reputation. How does it ruin your reputation? By talking to other people it may cause them to think, "Do they talk behind my back". Then there is the person that may think that talking mean about someone is just rude and unacceptable. So to help you out, this blog post is for helping you deal with the people who say (pardon me) B.S about you. Here are some tips:
1. Be the mature person. Don't retaliate at them. It only makes things worse.
2. Be casual with them. Like I said ignoring the person would only be the immature thing on your end.
3. If they keep talking about you, approach them and tell them to stop. But make sure to keep it casual because if you blow up at them, that will make them spread more rumors about you (and we don't want that).
4. Take a nice brisk walk or read a book to distract yourself from what they are saying.
5. Try to think well of yourself. Depending on what this person(s) may be saying, it usually can be pretty hurtful; so be good to yourself. The better you are to yourself, the better off you will be. Confidence attracts other people.
6. Talk about it with a trusted friend. However, don't talk crud about that other person. Again, I know from personal experience that it is extremely hard to not retaliate and talk about them. Just talk about it with someone you trust. Who knows? They may have some great advice!
7. Be relaxed. If these people can't accept you for who you are then they aren't worth your time! You are much better than them! Take yourself away from them. Only being around people that talk crud about you is TOXIC! Not only does it lower your confidence, you are also falling into their words (if you know what I mean), and that is not good! Stay strong!
