All of us have been there. Making a mistake and probably messing something that’s really big up. The afterthought of this is horrible and it can leave you feeling really guilty/embarrassed/ashamed/or all of these things combined. When one feels this way, what do you do? Well, have no fear because Positively Random is here! I have just a few tricks on how to deal with this.
- Affected someone while messing whatever you messed up, up? I know this may sound cliché but you know what? It never hurts to apologize. Maybe sorry may not cover what you did but it’s a step closer to repairing a relationship. Also, while you apologize make sure to ask if you can make it up even if you can’t help with anything.
- Don’t beat yourself up. If you beat yourself up that will only lead to self-hatred. The more you beat yourself up the more depressed and the deeper you are digging yourself into a somewhat bottomless pit of sadness. Plus your confidence will lower and we don’t want that, do we?
- Work on something. This will help you clear your mind, think a little straighter, and not make rash decisions. But come back to the problem after about forty-five minutes to an hour. This will give you enough time to process/or distract yourself. Can’t think of anything to work on? Here are some ideas! Watch a movie, clean something, work on work, organize your room, take a nap (your body needs it, especially if something negative is going through your head. Negative things drain your energy) or go out with a friend. These are usually good things to do to distract yourself.
I hope all of these suggestions help! Stay positive! J
