True friends are very hard to come by. They are almost like diamonds. Diamonds need a certain amount of pressure and heat to actually become diamonds. That's how friends are if you think about it. You have to get to know them to discover if they are actually a true friend or not. In my opinion, a true friend is someone who is there for you that won't judge you for who you are and someone who you can talk to. Friendships need communication. Communication is a biggy in a friendship. Without communication how is one to become friends. Also, when people trash you, that only means that they aren't confident in themselves. When someone talks about someone else it's usually because there is something wrong in their life and they need to take it out on other people. If you need something, NEVER feel afraid to ask. I used to go through what you are going through, feeling like I am going to be judged for seeing if I can get something like ice cream because I didn't want people to think I was greedy or anything like that. I overcame it by being confident in myself and saying if I want this, I WANT THIS, and I am not letting anyone get in my way. Don't ever be around people who make you feel like you are small or people that try to make fun of you. It is TOXIC (trust me). Now, how does one become confident? I am personally working on this but try looking at yourself in the mirror (I know this will sound cheesy) and tell yourself, "I can do this! I am strong! If anyone is mean to me that is their own problem because I am amazing!". Try that. Also! Remember to put your hands on your hips! It's called the Superman/Wonderwoman Pose. Scientific studies have proven that when a person does that it boosts their confidence and lowers stress levels! This also (kind of) leads me into going into new places. There is not a perfect place (I am pretty sure you know this) on this Earth but you have to try to make it the happiest way you can. From personal experience, going into a place and thinking it's all going to be perfect but it turns out to be that it's not what I expected. This is where we keep our expectations low and hope for the best! If it turns out to be great, wonderful! But if it doesn't, let's try to make this situation/experience as happy as possible! Because the happier you are the more likely you will be able to make the situation better. If you are lonely in this situation, try to make a new friend or distract yourself with something to read (or something else)! When it comes to school friends, try texting them or hanging out with them outside of school! It is also alright to want to be around people and want to just get hugs because shouldn't you listening be reciprocated? In my opinion, it should because friendships are a two-way street. Just remember that YOU ARE STRONG, YOU ARE AMAZING, and that YOU CAN DO THIS! Want advice? Email me at randombutyetpositiveadvice@gmail.com! Stay positive! :)
